What Causes Wrinkles?
Dehydration, the natural loss of moisture during aging, is the main cause of wrinkles in the skin. The skin is composed of outer layers (epidermis) and deeper layers (dermis). Both are supported by inner layers of cells and fatty tissue, that give the skin support, firmness and contour. As dehydration occurs, the fatty tissues lose moisture and begin to shrivel, and skin begings to look older.

Many other factors contribute to the development of wrinkles. Sudden weight loss, illness, stress, fatigue, exposure to the sun, smoking and improper facial care also play a significant role in the production of wrinkles.
